Held on 15 and 16 July at The Galleria Sandton, Dischem Confex 2025 once again affirmed its position as a premier industry platform — not only for product innovation and expert panels, but also for its gold-standard approach to event safety and compliance.

With high footfall and an expansive venue footprint, our role as risk advisors focused on full alignment with the Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act (SASREA). Key interventions included early SAPS risk categorization, JOC presentations, and a meticulously developed event safety plan.

On site, collaboration was key. The event safety officer and OHS manager worked in lockstep with our consultants to ensure fire rationale compliance, medical coverage, and security operations were proactively coordinated. Medics were stationed across all high-density areas and integrated into the central communication framework. Private security teams managed ingress, egress, and overall crowd safety — essential for a two-day event of this scale.
